Samsung Galaxy S4, the fastest-selling Android phone in the market
Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S4, has become the fastest selling Android phone. It features a 5-inch, full HD Super AMOLED touch-screen display with 441 pixels per inch and 1,920-by-1,080 resolution and runs an enhanced version of Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The Galaxy S4 is on show on April 25, 2013 in New York City. South Korea’s Samsung Electronics said Thursday that global sales of its latest flagship Galaxy smartphone had topped 10 million units less than a month after its debut.
The S4 has reached the landmark faster than its predecessors, said the company. Sales of the Galaxy S3 reached the 10-million mark after 50 days of its launch. The Galaxy S2 took five months and the Galaxy S seven months to reach the same milestone.
According to another report, Samsung Galaxy S4 sold twice at the rate of its main rival HTC One.
Launched on April 27 in 60 countries, the Galaxy S4 is now estimated to be selling at a rate of four units per second, Samsung said. The phone is currently available in more than 110 countries and will eventually be rolled out to a total of 155 countries.
Prospective Galaxy S4 buyers look forward to some new color variations in the coming month beyonds the existing white and black options. And Samsung is planning to introduce blue and red versions this summer, followed by purple and brown.
